Getting the close-up view Data collection
The student chapter participates in several deer check-in stations throughout the hunting season. These activities serve as a learning experience for students and they also bring in funding for the chapter. This funding helps to cover student travel expenses to the regional and national meetings of The Wildlife Society. This funding is also used to assist in paying travel expenses for those students that attend the Southeastern Wildlife Conclave in the spring.
TWRA Raccoon Check-In & TWRA Black Bear Check-in Stations

The hunt is ON! Another successful hunt!
Herpin' (or Herpatology) is another activity that students can participate in to gain experience or knowledge about reptiles and amphibians. This years Herp survey is being done at the Forks of the River Wildlife Management Area in south Knoxville. The activity will provide data about what species are present on the property and it will also give students a chance to learn about herps in a hands-on environment.
