Jason Henning
Assistant Professor
Jason Henning is an Assistant Professor with a split appointment in Natural Resources and Biometrics in the Department of Forestry, Wildlife and Fisheries at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resource Management from Rutgers University. He holds two Master of Science degrees; one in Forestry from the University of Minnesota, and one in Statistics from Virginia Tech. He received his doctorate in Forestry from Virginia Tech as well.
Dr. Henning's research interests include applications of terrestrial lidar in assessment of forest canopies, hybrid modeling to combine process and growth and yield approaches, and statistical model evaluation.
Dr. Henning is a native of Pennsylvania and recently relocated to Tennessee with his wife, and 6 month old son.He joined the faculty of the Department of Forestry, Wildlife and Fisheries here at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville in January 2007. Prior to joining the University of Tennessee, Dr. Henning worked as a Post-doctoral Teaching and Research Associate in the Department of Natural Resources at the University of New Hampshire.
