Instructor: Dr. Lisa Muller

Credits: 3 Hours

Course Objectives:

Wildlife Damage Management provides the principles and methods for identifying and solving damage problems caused by vertebrate animals.  Students acquire sufficient knowledge of the biological, regulatory, practical, and social considerations necessary for making decisions to manage wildlife damage.

Course Overview:

The Wildlife Damage class teaches students to identify and resolve issues associated with animal control on an upscale island off the coast of Georgia and learned about trapping techniques for bobcats, beaver, raccoon and small mammals.  The class also experienced the controversy associated with wildlife damage and learned that communication skills are necessary in management issues concerning with the public.
