News:
7/26/07 - The 2007 Conclave at UT has come and gone, leaving a haze of memories and a few final responsibilities for the host school in its wake. So as those responsibilities get wrapped up, here is an update to the website and some general ASFC news. First now under the 'Events' section is the final results for the 2007 Conclave. Also our sponsor list has been posted under 'Sponsors' replacing the usual Please, Send, Money listing, which does not mean stop sending money if feel so inclined. Next is the ASFC website I promised back in April is in a state where I think people should be allowed to see it, so if you would like to look at the new ASFC new/history site, please go to http://ASFC-conclave.org/wordpress and let me know what you think. Thanks and hope to hear from you all soon.

7/8/07 - Here is the link to the 2008 Conclave site. Remember is and check it often. http://sfrc.ufl.edu/Conclave2008/ Hope to see you all there!!!

Old News:

Conclave is fast approaching and many things have now been settled. To begin with, registration information has been posted, fees will be $140, which includes housing, and all meals, for more information look in the registration section of the site. Other updates include the posting of the schedule and order of schools. Pretty much everything should be there now, so enjoy!

Also a couple emails have been sent out trying to discuss various subjects, with little response. I would like to thank those who responded. The outcome of the discussion is that University of the South and Haywood Community College has both been invited to participate on a non-point basis, much like UK did last year. The schools actual attendance is not final but if either attends, there will be a discussion of membership of these schools during the meetings. Another, more pressing, matter is the length of chain for chain throw. The decision last year was to try a 100ft length this year and revisit the issue after the event. I am going to follow this discussion. This is an issue that goes in circles because some clubs have one length, some have the other, and some have neither. UT Forestry have a 100ft chain now and are willing to let those who do not have use our chain, and I encourage others with the appropriate length to do the same. If you wish, clubs with the old 132ft chain may want to bring their chain anyway incase something changes. I am sorry that this is such an indefinite solution but it is a hard matter to solve for many reason, most of which will be addressed at the Executives Meeting at conclave.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone in Tennessee this year. If you have any questions or conserns, feel free to email me at SMWilson@utk.edu
